SPAIN SUMMER 2001 - PAMPLONA AND THE SAN FERMIN FESTIVAL
The opening of the San Fermin Festival was a tough experience, 15.000 people crowded on a little Plaza and the sorrounding narrow streetsThe Parade of the Giants and the bulls running through the streets of Pamplona's Oldtown were two of the Festival Highlights. 10.000 people were watching the bulls arriving at the Bullfight Plaza. Here they lost their life later the same day.Our eminent taxidriver told us there would be about 1.000.000 people participating in the Festival during its seven days. Fontaine-diving and fireworks was fun and of course eating and urinating (almost everywhere) were necessities. After Pamplona; the Plane home.
